Exclusive Complex of Trulli With Pool In Elevated Position, Apulia

This exquisite complex of trulli and its swimming pool overlook Bosco Selva di Alberobello, a luscious, woody area just 1km from Alberobello. Having said that, you can have the chance to bathe, admiring the breathtaking landscape, which is covered with lush trees as far as the eye can see.

The House

This complex of trulli was restored in 2021, and it is composed of 2 cones and 1 cummersa (a portion of the house having gable roof instead of conical one). Enclosing the external perimeter of the house, the measure is 100 sq.m. with possibility to build additional 70 sq.m. The thickness of the stone walls guarantees a fresh indoor temperature in the summer, and a warm temperature during the winter.

Heating is provided by fan coil units, which serve both as A/C and as heat pump. In addition, you find also underfloor heating.

The overall ambience is traditional, yet modern. It is tiny, and yet light. Indeed, the house provides a glazed door, three windows, and one French window to bring daylight inside the accommodation. Furthermore, white stone walls confer an airy and luminous look to the ambience.

The main entrance consists of a glass door, through which you enter in a habitable space with conical roof, wooden beams, lantern style pendant lights and wooden furniture. In this room, you find also a kitchenette, which is situated inside an arched niche in the wall. All the systems are powered with electricity, so in the small kitchen you find an induction hob, a small electric oven, a small fridge and a sink.

To the right of the entrance door, you find a double bedroom provided with two windows. This room has conical roof, and it is surrounded by arched niches. In fact, the bed is under the arch formed by one them. Also, you find a peculiar wardrobe carved into the stone wall.

On the left, you find the cummersa’s accommodation. Here, you have another double bedroom that has barrel vault ceiling. The room has a small window, and a French window leading to the pool outside. You can literally jump off the bed and dive into the water.

On the sides of the corridor that connects this bedroom to the central cone, you find two barrel vaults compartments serving as bathroom. On the right compartment, there are a washbasin and a shower carved into the stone wall. While on the left compartment, there are the bathroom fixtures, another washbasin, and a small window. Walls in those two small bathrooms are clad with a special cement, which gives a rustic, traditional terracotta look.

The Garden

The total area of the garden is about 6.000 sq.m. It is fully fenced with 2.000m of traditionally stone built walls, and with 400m of net. Also, an electric gate is installed on the main access.

In front of the trulli, you find an elevated space, from which you can contemplate the entire overwhelming landscape. On this terrace, you find an 8×4 mt. swimming pool with a wooden sun deck, onto which you can place sun loungers to get a nice tan under the red-hot sun, or to enjoy a drink in balmy summer evenings. In the BBQ area you can find also a pizza oven, a big sunshade, and some tables to dine out. This area is also provided with video surveillance system.

In the garden there are two underground water tanks for the collection of rainwater: one of them is used for the irrigation, the other one is used for the house’s water supply, and it is periodically filled by a tanker (it is very common for trulli in Apulia).

The Location

This fantastic complex of trulli is located in the famous Valle d’Itria, just a few hundreds meters from Bosco Selva and 2.5kms from the UNESCO Heritage Site of Alberobello, the town of Trulli, where you can enjoy a walk among the lines of trulli or dine out in one of the exclusive restaurants in town. Gastronomically speaking, this area is famous for DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) wines, such as “Martina franca DOC“ and “Locorotondo DOC”. The valley offers also many delicacies, such as Taralli (toroidal breadsticks), Bombette (pork meat rolls usually stuffed with cheese, salt and pepper), Capocollo di Martina Franca (a type of ham), Friselle (bread rounds usually accompanied by tomato, olive oil and mozzarella) and many others.
